Composites Cluster Promotions

The Composites Innovation Centre has had a very busy month in June attending several local, national and international events to promote Manitoba

Filament Winding Capability Established with Industrial Partner

When the CIC recently purchased a McClean Anderson numerically controlled filament winding machine to support industry and University of Manitoba projects, it was considered an optimum solution to locate it on the university campus. However, due to the large capital costs associated with facility modifications it became apparent that another location was needed. It was then that a local manufacturing company came to the rescue. Structural Glass Ltd. (SGL)., a fabricator of specialty corrosion equipment, industrial fiberglass components and bathware, offered facility space for our sizable equipment that is capable of producing parts 30 ft. long and 5 ft. in diameter.
